How Reseller OS works
The five-minute version. Anything unclear here is a bug — tell us.
How do I add something I bought?
Tap Add item and answer four short questions: what it is, what you paid, where you will keep it, then review and save. A one-of-a-kind find needs only a name and a price — the item code is made for you.
What is an item code (SKU)?
A short code that tells identical-looking items apart, like RS-26-10-4821. You can make up your own or let Reseller OS generate one. It never needs to be a real barcode.
What does Available mean?
Units you can sell right now. On hand counts everything on the shelf; held units are promised to a buyer (a draft order) and cannot be sold twice. Available is on hand minus held.
How is my cost figured?
When you save an item, Reseller OS records a purchase at the price you entered. When it sells, the oldest remaining cost is used first (called FIFO), so profit is figured from what you actually paid.
How do I record a sale?
Open Record sale, find the item, enter the selling price plus the marketplace fee and shipping, then record it. Profit shows on the receipt. Recording twice by accident is safe — only one sale is kept.
What do order statuses mean?
Draft is an item on hold. Awaiting payment means the buyer confirmed but has not paid. Ready to ship means paid and waiting for a parcel. Shipped is done. Cancelled and refunded orders put stock back.
What is the Money page telling me?
Sales minus what the goods cost, marketplace fees, shipping, refunds, and business expenses. Net is what the business kept in the period shown. Money and profit are hidden from staff accounts.
Can I fix a mistake?
Yes. Item names, codes, and details can be edited any time. Stock counts are never typed in by hand — sales, receiving, and counts keep a history so the numbers always reconcile. Cancelled orders and returns restore stock automatically.
How do I bring in my spreadsheet?
Open Imports, upload your CSV file, match each column to a Reseller OS field, preview what will happen, then import. The same file can never be imported twice, and possible duplicates are flagged for your review instead of being merged.
Who can see my business?
Only people you invite to your business, and each person only sees what their role allows. Staff cannot see costs or profit. One business can never see another business.
